Minnesota, progressive again
I don't know why, but when I think of Minnesota I don't immediately think "proressive!" It's odd, that, because two of my colleagues' companies are based in Minnesota and they're some of the most progressive in the green building industry. At any rate, Minnesota surprised me again this week by enacting the Architecture 2030 imperative into state law.
According to Architecture 2030, the Minnesota Sustainable Building 2030 Bill was signed by the governor on May 8. It will require that buildings that recieve state funding meet Architecture 2030 targets - a 60% reduction in 2010, 70% in 2015, 80% in 2020 and 90% in 2025.
Pretty cool. For more information on Architecture 2030 and to adopt the initiative, visit their web site at www.architecture2030.org.
