It's All You
So this is my fifth blog entry and it recently occurred to me that -- just like that mouthy guest who shows up at a barbeque or dinner function -- I've been running my yap, rudely neglecting to ask you a single question about yourself.
That's bad form. See, I think you're the most important element of our website.
So, in party parlance, how ya doin'?
To refine the query just a hair...
What can we do for you? What do you need to know more about? What's keeping you up at night?
Our goal is to pipeline relevant information that helps you build better, solve home building/remodeling/home improvement dilemmas, and blacken up the hue of your bottom line. So let us have it. Whether what you have is a question or an answer, we want to know.
So thanks for inviting me to your party. I'm passionate about building and improving homes the best way we can. To share your ideas is a pleasure and privilege.

We are remodeling the hallway bath (the kids' bathroom) and are not sure what type of bathtub to buy. The contractor likes Vertex but I wonder about how durable it is. We have a well so the luxury of a whirlpool tub seems not too practical, as who has time to luxuriate in those jets anyway. Cast iron? Too heavy. Any suggestions? And what is the difference between porcelain tile and glazed porcelain tile?

My question is how do you install a small bathroom (it's now half of a walkin closet) on a concrete slab? There is an outside wall involved and one that backs the laundry room.

my question is about contractors, general contractors, and homeowners doing their own work.
is the law that I have to have an electrical, plumbing, hvac, insulation contractor, or can I as the home owner, do the work myself? I have construction experience, am a journeyman aviation electrician, have a fair amount of DIY experience, and like to read about the things that I dont know, online or in books, to be able to approach a subject with knowledge.
When it comes time to get my permits for my house, can i list myself as all the contractors, and just get the permit inspectors to sign off on my work?
thereby saving me time and valueable money?
